"I denied it for a long time. I thought,
"What am I going to do? Where do I turn?
How am I going to tell my family?"

These thoughts are commonly shared among single pregnant women. How do we know? Because we talk with them . . . all the time.

Is Adoption a Choice for Me?
  • Jennie, an excellent college student with goals and ambitions, and her boyfriend Bob were not ready for marriage or family responsibilities when Jennie became pregnant. They talked about their options and realized that adoption was best for all involved.

Choosing adoption was the hardest decision Jennie ever made. Yet now, three years later, she feels positive about her choice and knows her child is well cared for and happy.

  • Kelly, 16, had friends who became pregnant and chose to parent their babies. She saw what difficult lives these girls had. When Kelly became pregnant, she at first reluctantly considered adoption. Through free, professional counseling, she realized she was not willing or able to parent a child on her own. In the best interests of her child, she chose adoption.

Kelly met the prospective adoptive parents who reassured her that her baby would be placed in a warm, loving home. Now, two years later, she believes she made the right decision.

We Are Here to Help

Decisions to make... options to consider. We understand that an unplanned pregnancy involves making choices. Therefore, we:
  • Offer pregnancy counseling, support groups and follow-up support after a decision is made.
  • Offer openness in adoption between the birth parents and adoptive parents if mutually agreed upon.
  • Keep permanent records of the child, the birth parent and the adoptive family.
  • Provide the adoptive family with ongoing medical information about the child as well as provide emotional and psychological support throughout the child's life.
